The Askara Assembly: Terms of Use
1. Acceptance, eligibility & scope
By registering an account on The Askara Assembly (the “Community”), operated by Askara Solutions OÜ (“we”, “us”), you agree to these Terms of Use. The Community is separate from askara.solutions’ corporate website and its own Terms of Service. These Terms govern your use of the Community specifically.
Registration is open to persons aged 18 or over.
Registration requires a valid work or professional email address. We may decline, or ask you to verify, registrations made with personal or free-provider addresses. If your professional address genuinely is with such a provider, contact legal@askara.solutions and we’ll take a look.
The Community has three kinds of spaces: publicly readable categories, members-only categories, and private client spaces. Who can see what you post depends on where you post it. See the Privacy Notice’s Visibility section before posting.
If you don’t agree, don’t create an account or continue using the Community.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Post content that is unlawful, infringing, harassing, or defamatory.
- Share another member’s or client’s confidential or sensitive information without their consent.
- Post unsolicited advertising, spam, or competitor disparagement.
- Attempt to circumvent moderation, access controls, or account restrictions.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
Behavioural expectations (civility, flagging, how discussions work day-to-day) are covered in the Community Guidelines. This section is the contractual backbone those guidelines sit on top of.
3. Content you post
You retain ownership of content you post. By posting, you grant Askara Solutions OÜ a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, distribute, and reproduce that content as part of operating the space you posted it to, including quoted replies within that space, internal search indexing, and archival/backup copies. Content posted in a members-only category or a private client space is not licensed for display outside that space.
You also grant other members a licence to quote your content in their own posts within the space where it was originally posted.
This licence survives closure or termination of your account. It is the contractual reason your posts remain part of the discussion record after you leave. What happens to your identifying data on request is a separate question, governed by data-protection law; see the Privacy Notice’s erasure section.
4. Moderation & enforcement
Staff and moderators may:
- Edit, hide, or remove content that violates these Terms or the Community Guidelines.
- Issue warnings, suspend, or terminate accounts for violations.
- Restrict posting privileges (rate limits, category access) without prior notice where needed to prevent harm.
How moderation works. Content is reviewed when flagged by members, reported through the illegal-content channel below, or noticed by staff. A moderator or staff member reviews it and decides; no moderation decisions are made solely by automated means.
We tell you what happened. If we remove or restrict your content, or suspend or restrict your account, we will notify you and give the reason, except where we are legally prevented from doing so.
Appeals. If you believe a moderation or account decision was wrong, write to legal@askara.solutions. Someone not involved in the original decision will review it.
Illegal content and infringement reports. Anyone (member or not) can report content they believe is illegal, including intellectual-property infringement, to legal@askara.solutions. Reports are assessed and actioned in line with the EU Digital Services Act’s notice-and-action requirements.
5. Account suspension, termination & deletion
We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms. You may request account closure at any time.
Closing or having your account terminated does not delete your posts: under §3’s licence, your authored content remains part of the discussion record of the spaces you posted it to. Your identifying data is a separate matter. On request it is removed through anonymization, and personal data contained inside post content is handled case by case. The Privacy Notice’s erasure section describes the mechanism, its limits (quoted replies, public-category search caches), and how to make a request.
6. Disclaimers
The Community is provided “as is.” Content posted by members reflects their own views, not Askara Solutions’. Nothing in the Community constitutes professional, legal, or compliance advice. Members should not rely on posts as a substitute for their own advisors.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
7. Changes to these terms
New members accept these Terms when they register. We may update these Terms; for material changes (changes to the content licence, your rights or obligations, or how your data is handled), we will give notice at least 14 days before they take effect and ask members to re-accept before continuing to use the Community. Non-material edits (corrections and clarifications that don’t change meaning) may be made without notice.
